One wouldn't presume our beloved judges live in cloud
cuckoooooooooooooooooooooland!
At least they have kept that dangerous non-murder suspect Assange locked =
up!
There is always a presumption in favour of bail unless there are
strong reasons reasons for thinking the bailee might abscond.
"Outside court, Sky News reporter Alistair Bunkall said: "The most
interesting piece of evidence was footage apparently taken three days
after Mrs Dewani's death, seeming to show the husband handing over a
white package to the driver."
The lawyer offered the evidence as argument against granting Dewani
bail, claiming he posed a significant flight risk.
But Mr Justice Ouseley disagreed with the accusations and granted bail
for the Bristol care home owner, who was not in court.
He will be released from custody on stringent bail conditions and the
payment of a =A3250,000 cash surety."
In this case he put up front =A3250000 cash.
He is resident in this country.
He is the owner of considerable assets in this country.
He will be required to surrender his passport, wear an electronic tag
and report to his local police daily.
Now look at the Asagne character.
We is an Australian fly by night who lives out of a rucksack.
He is anti-establishment.
He has no known assets in this country and offers no personal surety.
The only people to stand up for him are self promoting "luvvies" who
have never met him and so there is no good reason to believe that hey
would hold any influence over him whatsoever.
There is every reason to believe that he would delight in absconding
if only for the publicity it would afford him in cooking snook at the
judicial system.
Hence he does not get bail. Judges make these decisions every day and
so ecome quite experienced in them.
When we grow up can we watch the preceedings on tele.

at present it is possible to argue that you don't know what is really
going on...eg you haven't seen all the evidence....

that advantage would be lost if you were allowed to watch
