A 50-STRONG bicycle mob went on a deadly rampage, stabbing one man to
death and knifing another two. The gang, thought to be youths in their
teens and late 20s, took to the streets of New Cross on Sunday night
armed with guns and knives.

Their first victim, Jason Gayle, thought to be in his early 30s, was
stabbed repeatedly in the chest on his doorstep in Ludwick Mews and
shot with a gas-powered gun. Early reports suggested his brother had
also been knifed in the shoulder as the youths swamped them outside
their neatly-kept terraced home. As Jason lay in a pool of blood after
the stabbing at 9pm, the mob rode off to search for other victims.

Jason's family were already grieving after the loss of his brother,
Alex Bent, who died in a car crash in Lawrie Park Avenue,Sydenham, last
year. A family friend said: "Their mum Eileen will never get over this.
She's a lovely woman. It was a tragedy to lose Alex but this is too
much. "They're a nice family, very friendly. Jason was very nice, very
pleasant. He got on with my children. No one has had a bad word about
this family."

Another man was stabbed in the leg nearby and beaten around the head.
It is understood the youths placed a gaspowered gun to his head and
fired several blank shots to scare him into submission before stealing
his moped. Cops were probing reports of other attacks and gun shots
across Lewisham as we went to press. Police chiefs in the borough were
locked in emergency talks yesterday morning to discuss the gang-related
rampage.

The attacks come amid a surge in robberies which have risen by half in
the borough since April. The murder has immediately been linked to
notorious gun gang, The Peckham Boys.

The murder was just a quarter of a mile away from the scene of two
other killings. Orville Davidson, 25, and Peter Buahin, 23, were shot
in March and July 2005 respectively.
Acting borough commander Superintendent Richard Martin said: "These
circumstances were tragic for all involved, both for the victims and
the wider community.

* A boy of 16 was fighting for his life after another, unrelated, gang
attack on Thursday. He was pushed off his bike in Oscar Street,
Deptford, by robbers and beaten with chains, branches and an
advertising hoarding. The motive is thought to be robbery.

Why are these land sharks let loose among us to rob and kill us with
impunity? Why did we wipe out wolves and bears from these islands only
for these dangerous creatures to be let in? We can't put cages between
them and us unless they attack, we know that, so WE have to lose OUR
liberty, forced to lock our car doors, wind our windows up, put our
aerials down and drive through carefully like you would in any safari
park. Bring back big game hunting.

What are you trying to do? Bore people to death? Or is it just your OCD
which makes you repeat yourself over and over?

That area's certainly changed a lot since the days of Del Boy and
Rodders
Fromt he Knowhere guide to Peckham;
'Rubbish shopping area. Years ago we had a lovely M&S, C&A's, Jones &
Higgins, etc. Now all there is, is African shops and smelly butchers! I
feel sorry for the older generation...'loads of people trying to mug
you who go around in gangs. it is dangerous to go around at night
because you could get attacked by a gang and particularly on the north
peckham estate - don't go there if you want to survive'

OK, but on the bright side, what're property prices like in north Peckham?
Say, a three bed detached house with a roof garden (and perhaps a
moat)....how much?

My Granfather told me what a nice place Brixton was to live in before the
War, he said it was lovely all the way up from Brixton to the Oval.

There are bad black bastards the same as there are bad white bastards, what
we need to do is sort the lot of them out. Bring back the cat O nine tails
and beat some discipline into them. The "cat" would sort them out.

Well if I was in school I would not be eating it. I ate school dinners for
the first 6 months of high school and then it was over the chippy or the
sweet shop.

I seem to recall some time back that the Brits implemented some stricter
form of gun control, a supposedly brilliant idea that would reduce the
incidence of violent crime. I see it's working as well as it did in the

Gun control, in effect, increases the pool of unarmed victims for the
outlaw predator class to prey on.
