Two stories from the First Post - that planned or not give opposite
perspectives on crime fighting

12-year-old Carla has been brutally attacked twice but the police have
done next to nothing to help. Roberts asks: could this be because she
is neither white, nor middle-class?

Full story: http://www.thefirstpost.co.uk/index.php?menuID=1&subID=951

Meanwhile, a mystery serving police officer blogger argues that too
much effort and cash are going into pen-pushing and not policing

Full story: http://www.thefirstpost.co.uk/index.php?menuID=2&subID=1189

I would prefer to think that the police ignore no one but through no

Maybe they are all busy manning road-blocks to ask innocent members of
the public to show their licence and insurance? You can see how that
takes a lot of time and wouldn't leave them able to deal with criminals
at all.
